Marjorie Taylor Greene Calls on Trump to Prioritize American Interests
On Sunday, Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, a Republican from Georgia, encouraged President Trump to prioritize the needs of the United States during his upcoming meetings with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
Since returning to the White House, Trump has been actively involved in the ongoing conflicts between Russia and Ukraine, as well as Israel and Hamas. He met with Zelensky at Mar-a-Lago to discuss a potential peace strategy to end the ongoing Russia-Ukraine war, which has been in effect since Russia’s invasion in February 2022.
Netanyahu arrived in Florida on Sunday in anticipation of his meeting with Trump scheduled for Monday, marking the sixth discussion between the two leaders this year regarding Israel’s conflicts in the Middle East.
Greene expressed her concerns about Trump’s interactions with Zelensky and Netanyahu, stating that the focus should be on American citizens rather than international entanglements. She tweeted, “Today Zelensky. Tomorrow Netanyahu,” suggesting a pattern of foreign meetings that, in her view, could detract from domestic issues.
“Is it okay just for America?” Greene added, probing the priorities that should guide the Trump administration. She has been outspoken against U.S. military aid to other nations amid conflicts in Europe and the Middle East.
Greene has previously criticized Zelensky, calling him a “dictator who canceled elections,” and has referred to Israel’s military actions in Gaza as a form of genocide and a humanitarian crisis.
Additionally, this recent plea from Greene follows a period of public tension between her and Trump. After she requested the release of documents linked to Jeffrey Epstein’s investigation, Trump labeled her a “traitor” and withdrew his support.
