Mark Dodson, famous for ‘Star Wars’ and ‘Gremlins,’ dead at 64 after suffering heart attack

Mark Dodson, the voice actor known for bringing iconic characters from the Star Wars series and Gremlins to life, has died at the age of 64.

Dodson’s daughter Ciara suffers ‘massive heart attack’ while sleeping he told TMZ on Sunday. She also said that her father “never stopped making me proud.”

The actor was scheduled to appear at Horror Con, so he checked into a hotel in Evansville, Indiana.

“We are heartbroken to announce the sudden passing of Mark Dodson last night,” the post read. “Mark was not only a talented voice actor, but also a valued member of the horror community. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family, friends, and fans during this incredibly difficult time.” The post continued.

“I hope you spend a day reflecting on the joy and laughter that Mark brought to the world. His legacy will live on through his work. Rest in Peace, Mark. Get to know you and appreciate your talent.” You will be remembered and missed by everyone you had the pleasure of experiencing.”

Dodson’s talent agency Stella Appearance also expressed their condolences on social media.

“Mark’s career spanned more than 40 years as a radioman, voice actor, producer, and fan favorite at convention attendees around the world.” facebook post read. “Mark was best known for voicing some of Hollywood’s most iconic characters in some of Hollywood’s most popular films,” the tribute continued.

The statement also emphasized the late actor’s gratitude to his fans.
