Mark Kelly touts new SUV after saying he was ditching Tesla

Sen. Mark Kelly (D-Ariz.) promoted his new vehicle on Sunday after he announced last week that he would dump Tesla before and after an ongoing back and forth with electric car company CEO Elon Musk.

in The video was posted on Sunday On Musk's owns social platform X, Kelly showed off what he called “a new ride” while standing next to a Chevrolet Tahoe SUV in Washington.

“I also got one of these at Tuscon. It was made by Union Workers, a United Autoworker in Arlington, Texas. “And I look forward to driving this for years.”

It came just two days after he said he was looking for a new ride, as his Tesla was “built and designed by a hole.”

“Every time I've got in this car in the last 60 or so, it reminds me of how much Elon Musk and Donald Trump are doing to our country,” he said in a video last Friday.

“To talk about social security novelty for the poor, reducing healthcare benefits. One bad thing after the next person,” he said in relation to the mask leader on Trump's government efficiency (DOGE) efforts.

Kelly, a former US Navy combat pilot, said Musk has also fired veterans.

“I'm a veteran, so I'm really struggling to drive with this,” he said of his Tesla last week. “I think today is the time to upgrade.”

“What's like Elon Musk turns out to be a hole. I don't want to drive a car built and designed by the hole, so I look forward to my new ride,” he added.

Earlier last week, Musk called Kelly a “traitor” on social media in response to a Senate Democrat's trip to Ukraine earlier this month.

Kelly returned to the mask and wrote on social media, “Eron, if you don't understand that freedom of defense is the fundamental doctrine of making America great and keeping us safe, then maybe you should leave it to those who do it.”

He later told MSNBC's “Rachel Madow Show” that “the only vow that Elon could be considered as an oath to his own check account, his pocket book.”

Kelly's Tesla abandon comes amid a bigger protest against the mask due to its involvement.

Tesla's stock has plummeted more than 50% since the end of last year, but demonstrations have emerged at showrooms of electric car companies across the country.

Musk is also facing European backlash due to his criticism of the Ukrainian government and support for far-right parties on the continent. Tesla's CEO confirmed on Monday that he has “major challenges” running a variety of companies while juggling Doge's work.
