Mark Levin Critiques British PM Starmer’s Ultimatum to Israel

British Prime Minister Keir Starmer came under criticism from Mark Levin on Wednesday after Starmer’s call for Israel to agree to a ceasefire and his threat to recognize the Palestinian state otherwise. Levin, hosting “Life, Liberty and Levin,” expressed frustration over advice from European leaders regarding how to conduct military operations in Israel.

“Honestly, I’m a bit fed up with these lectures about how Western Europe manages wars,” he remarked during an interview on “American Newsroom.” It seems like if they had their way, Israel would have already capitulated to groups like Hamas, Hezbollah, and Iranian proxies. European leaders just don’t understand how to defend their nations, and frankly, their policies for Israel seem ineffective.”

Levin further criticized expectations from leaders like French President Emmanuel Macron regarding Israel, questioning what they have done to foster peace and resolve crises in the area.

Starmer’s stance indicates that if Israel rejects calls for a ceasefire, the UK will pursue recognizing Palestine, demanding Hamas to disarm.

Levin highlighted Israel’s unique position, saying, “It’s the only country that offers concessions to its enemies during wartime. No one else does that. They are fighting defensive wars, yet still being told to provide for those attacking them.” He likened the situation to giving in to aggressors, drawing a historical parallel to the Third Reich.

Additionally, he claimed that mainstream media often distorts conditions in Gaza, suggesting they unfairly hold Israel accountable.

In upcoming ceasefire talks, Hamas is expected to strengthen its position, while Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu is recalling his negotiation team.

Starmer recently warned at a press conference that the UK would recognize the Palestinian state if Israel fails to agree to a ceasefire and doesn’t take critical steps towards peace by September.

“If the Israeli government does not make substantial moves to address the dire situation in Gaza and achieve a long-term sustainable peace, we will pursue recognizing Palestine at the United Nations General Assembly in September,” he stated. This would include allowing the UN to provide aid and affirming that no annexation of the West Bank will occur.

This announcement echoed similar sentiments expressed by France. Starmer also urged Hamas to play its part in the path to peace.

“However, our message to Hamas remains unchanged: they need to release all hostages immediately. We cannot endorse a ceasefire while they refuse to disarm,” he added.

This occurs just after President Trump met with Scottish officials, where he voiced his disagreement with Starmer’s approach.
