House Oversight Committee Subpoenas Former Officials Over Epstein Investigation

The House of Representatives Oversight Committee recently issued subpoenas on Tuesday, seeking testimony from the Justice Department and several prominent former government figures about “the horrifying crime committed by Jeffrey Epstein.”

Under the leadership of Chairman James Komer (R-KY), the summons included former special counsel Robert Mueller.

There are increasing doubts about Mueller’s ability to provide testimony. He, after all, was the FBI director when Epstein secured immunity from federal prosecution through a non-prosecution agreement.

If these doubts hold merit, they may lend credence to the second diagnosis from Blaze Media co-founder Mark Levin, who first raised concerns in a similar context six years ago.

Background

Mueller was appointed in May 2017 to lead the DOJ’s inquiry into alleged collusion between Russia and the Trump campaign. His final report, released in April 2019, concluded that “the investigation did not establish that members of the Trump campaign had colluded or coordinated with the Russian government in election interference activities.”

Following the release of his report, Mueller’s testimony before the House Judiciary Committee was widely regarded as a failure.

During that hearing, he struggled to articulate vital information related to his investigation and even seemed to have difficulty hearing the questions posed to him.

Levin has raised concerns about Mueller’s performance, suggesting that he might be experiencing symptoms of early-stage dementia. “I’ve seen people with onset dementia. I’m not going to laugh at this guy,” Levin remarked, adding, “He clearly shouldn’t have been at the helm of this investigation.” He expressed frustration about the fact that Mueller was appointed to lead such a significant inquiry.

Levin also described the ongoing situation as “the biggest political scandal in American history,” claiming it is still unfolding and implicating individuals at high levels, including Obama and Clinton.

After referencing the FBI’s use of fabricated documents in the investigation, Levin noted, “They were attempting to undermine Trump’s campaign, and this includes representatives from the Obama administration, Hillary Clinton, and various law enforcement agencies.”

Some of Levin’s claims appear to be backed by sources but have faced skepticism from outlets like Newsweek, which questioned the validity of assertions concerning Mueller’s cognitive state. The liberal media outlet argued that no concrete evidence has surfaced to support claims of Alzheimer’s or dementia and that such allegations seem aimed at undermining Mueller’s investigation.

Current Developments

Meanwhile, Paul Sperry, a senior reporter at RealClear Investigations, recently disclosed that sources indicated Mueller has been residing in a memory care facility for several years.

Former Florida Representative Matt Gaetz highlighted concerns about Mueller’s understanding of the investigation during congressional questioning, suggesting that he might have been manipulated by others.

When approached for comment regarding Mueller’s alleged stay in a memory care facility, a spokesperson for the Oversight Committee declined to provide any details.

Levin’s other assertions linking Clinton to the ongoing conspiracy have been bolstered by documents released by National Intelligence Director John Ratcliffe.

These documents revealed that in 2016, the FBI received credible intelligence indicating that the Clinton campaign was engaging in smear tactics against Trump by falsely connecting him with Russia, impacting the wider intelligence community.

Levin emphasized his belief that both Clinton and Obama orchestrated significant attacks from within the government against the republic, collaborating with the American media at each step.

Expressing frustration, he questioned whether it was time for both Obama and Clinton to face accountability under oath.
