At a recent rally in Nevada, Donald Trump brought up an interesting topic: Hollywood.
“If we can get this done with the governor's help, a lot of Hollywood companies will relocate out of California because right now we don't have any land in California, it's owned by the federal government. We'll open that land up so they can build studios and other facilities,” he told a cheering crowd.
Dave Rubin praises Trump's idea of relocating a crumbling Hollywood to another place where it can thrive.
And apparently, Mark Wahlberg agrees.
Dave plays a clip of the actor “talking about his mission to attract a movie studio to Nevada.”
“We want the next movie to premiere here, we want a lot of movies to be made here, we want a lot of studios and streamers and everybody to move here and create new jobs, new industries. [Nevada’s] We have everything we can offer.
Wahlberg stated his goal: “Obviously Las Vegas has a lot to offer, so I want to bring something with me when I come to Las Vegas.”
“When people think of Las Vegas, they think of the Strip and the casinos, which is fine, but just 20 minutes away is the most amazing community I've ever been a part of. It's all about faith and family and it's vibrant,” he explained.
“I wanted to bring something to offer myself, whether it be bringing the film industry here, bringing factories here to make shoes and apparel, and creating other opportunities and jobs. I want to enrich the community and be a part of something,” he continued, emphasizing his intentions to “connect with people,” “find great partnerships,” “work hard with people,” “create opportunities,” and “inspire others.”
Dave admires people who are willing to leave their hometowns to build better communities.
“He saw what was going on there and said, 'Oh, here's a place where I can do better and be part of something that's growing and thriving,'” he says.
“That's really the message to America right now,” he continues. “Which direction do we want to go? Do we want to be a state like California, or do we want to be a state like … prosperous Nevada, prosperous Florida, or prosperous Texas?”
