A Florida couple, both practicing attorneys, have been disbarred after filing an appeal in a case in which they were accused of sexually assaulting their longtime babysitter.
Gabriel and Sarah Warren, both 40 years old, were arrested on March 12, 2023. Both were charged with sexual assault.
Investigators conducted DNA tests on the woman's clothing and found a match to the Warrens.
In June, the Warrens pleaded no contest in Leon County Circuit Court to one count each of unlawful use of a two-way radio communication device to further or facilitate the commission of a felony.
The Warrens were sentenced to 15 days in county jail followed by four years of state probation.
They were disbarred this week by a Florida court.

In the weeks after the alleged sexual assault, the Warrens exchanged text messages about how the babysitter “didn't hear anything” and used a clenched teeth emoji, according to court documents.

Sarah Warren apologized to the victim in court.
“Looking back on my actions, I now understand that: [sic] “This is completely unacceptable and I deeply regret betraying your trust by initiating sexual activity on March 10, 2023, and I will not make any excuses for my actions,” she said.
Gabriel added: “Although my actions cannot be undone, please know that I regret and am embarrassed by my actions that night. I understand. I'm not going to understand that, but I know how deep you felt that night, and I know I hurt you.”
