The mother of Robin Westman, the transgender shooter from Minneapolis, has appeared in a film created by her daughter.
Mary Grace Westman, 67, featured in the short film titled “Mary meets grace.” This film was written and directed by her biological daughter, 44-year-old Faryl Amadeus. Reports indicate.
The 2021 film, showcased at various festivals, is a fictional reinterpretation of Amadeus’ reunion with her birth mother, who was portrayed by Mary herself.
“My birth mother, who you see in the film, found me back in 2005, and then met my biological father again in 2012,” Amadeus shared with Neldo every day in 2021.
“She was really supportive of this project. She even lent me a photo and flew out during the pandemic for filming. We share a unique bond.”
“It’s something special: ‘Birth Mama.’ Part Friend/Part Self,” Amadeus noted in a Q&A section.
Amadeus had gone to Minnesota in 2005 to meet “five half-brothers,” including Robin, who was just three years old then, known as Robert during that time.
Amadeus, who was adopted from Kentucky and raised in a Brooklyn family, recalled her experience, saying she felt like she was “shipped from Kentucky like a box of whiskey.” She graduated from NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts, specifically from their ‘Experimental Theater Wing’ program, as per her statements. Amadeus is not mentioned in a disturbing letter allegedly written by Robin Westman to his family, which included several siblings.
Mary Grace hastily returned to Minneapolis from her second home in Naples, Florida, after facing law enforcement due to her son’s actions, which included a violent spree that left two children dead and 18 others injured.
She had previously worked as a secretary at Annunciation Catholic School, the site of the incident, and retired in 2021, according to the church’s website.
Robin graduated from Annunciation Catholic School in 2017, shortly before the tragic events unfolded.
Mary Grace and Robin’s father, James Westman, divorced in 2013.
Following her apparent avoidance of contact with police, Mary Grace has engaged criminal defense attorney Ryan Garry.
Neither she nor her attorney has been available for comments thus far.
Amadeus also has not responded to inquiries about the situation.
