Maryland man on the run after police allegedly find massive stash of illegal ghost guns in home

Maryland State Police launched a manhunt after a man was found to be hiding a large cache of ghost guns and other illegal firearms.

Police were called to the scene of a reported domestic assault incident involving Jerrod Adam Taylor, 39, on November 7th. Authorities said the suspect fled the scene before police arrived. When police searched his home, they found dozens of firearms, which Taylor is legally prohibited from possessing.

Police ultimately found 80 firearms inside the home, including a 3D-printed “ghost gun” with no serial number.

“On November 8, 2024, Detectives with the Criminal Investigation Division executed a search warrant on a residence and nearby vehicles. In addition to the gun, an AK-47 semi-automatic rifle, and various firearm parts, officers recovered numerous high-capacity magazines. Suppressors, 74 autosears (devices that convert semi-automatic guns to fully automatic), more than 1,300 rounds of ammunition, bulletproof vests, 3D printed fully automatic rifles with autosears, short-barreled rifles, 3D printers, 80 guns in total A firearm was recovered from the property,'' the St. Mary's County Sheriff's Office said in a statement to X.

The entire police department in the town, including the chief, resigned on the same day.

“Taylor is missing and should be considered armed and dangerous. He is 39 years old, a white male with fair skin, brown hair, and brown eyes, 5 feet 10 inches tall, and weighs approximately 150 pounds. “If you see him, do not approach him and call 911 immediately,'' police added.

Detectives investigating the case are seeking to charge Taylor with illegal possession of ammunition. Unlawful possession of an assault weapon for sale. Unlawful possession of a removed magazine of 10 or more rounds. Rapid fire trigger activator violation. failure to register to possess a machine gun for offensive purposes; Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Firearm. Possession of a rifle/shotgun by a disqualified person. possession of an unregistered rifle/shotgun and second-degree assault.

Police asked anyone with information about Taylor's whereabouts to contact Detective First Class David Lawrence.
