Mass arrests at Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade as anti-Israel protesters block path

Anti-Israel demonstrators tried to disrupt the second annual Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade on Thursday, prompting police to swarm and make mass arrests.

The demonstrators entered the parade route at West 55th Street and Sixth Avenue, booing and yelling for the group of about 20 people to move, prompting a violent negative reaction from the revelers in the crowd. Ta.

Photos showed protesters sitting in the path of the parade, some holding large banners that read “Don't celebrate genocide!”

New York City Police Department officers quickly swooped on the group, and they shouted, “Liberate Palestine, liberate it!” They were thrown to the ground and handcuffed.

After about five minutes, the crowd started moving again and the leader of the balloon train told the audience, “Donald McDonald, everyone!”

Mayor Eric Adams had already warned demonstrators not to dare repeat last year's humiliation, when many had their hands glued to the parade route.

“I really want to say to all the complainers who believe they're going to disrupt the parade, that's not going to happen,” Adams said Wednesday night ahead of the iconic parade.
