A Massachusetts mother who claims her daughter was among the victims in a stabbing attack that left six people injured in two towns last weekend claims the suspect was “laughing the whole time” during the attack.

The Plymouth County District Attorney’s Office announced that 26-year-old Jared Ravizza of the Martha’s Vineyard town of Chilmark was arrested and is now facing multiple charges in connection with a stabbing incident that occurred Saturday night at an AMC movie theater in Braintree and a rest stop in Plymouth.

“My sister called me to say that my eldest daughter had called. [and] “They had been stabbed and we had to get to the AMC movie theater right away, I’ll be honest with you, I got in my car and headed over there right away,” Lisa Dembowski told reporters about the first incident, which left four young women, ages 9 to 17, with “non-life threatening injuries,” according to Braintree police.

“So there were just the four of them in the theater. They had just sat down, they had just gotten their perks, and he came in, I think, the row behind them. They were sitting in the second row. He came in behind them,” Dembowski added. “My oldest daughter leaned over to get something, and he sat her back, and then he sat his other daughter on the top of the chest, and then he picked up his youngest daughter in his arms, and he was laughing the whole time, and then he ran off with his friend.”

Dembowski said her daughters are now “physically OK” but “distraught” and “scared that something like this could happen just because they went to the movies on a Saturday night, that someone could come into a cinema and do something like this.”

Authorities said the stabbing at the movie theater happened around 6 p.m. and about an hour later Ravizza allegedly carried out a second attack on a McDonald’s employee at a rest stop on Route 3 in Plymouth.

A 21-year-old woman and a 28-year-old man were injured in the attack, according to the district attorney’s office.

“Investigators reviewed surveillance video from the McDonald’s restaurant, which showed Ravizza reaching through the drive-thru window and stabbing the male victim with a large knife,” police said. “The video then showed Ravizza exiting the drive-thru in a black Porsche, parking the vehicle, entering the McDonald’s and stabbing the second female victim.”

Ravizza then allegedly fled the scene and was arrested in the Cape Cod town of Sandwich around 7:15 p.m.

“A witness in McDonald’s reported the vehicle’s license plate registration to Massachusetts State Police, which identified a black 2018 Porsche Macan as being registered to Ravizza,” the Plymouth County District Attorney’s Office said. “Police also confirmed that a BOLO had been initiated.” [been] It was issued for Ravizza’s arrest in another case.”
