A high school game in Massachusetts took a dangerous turn when teens playing “Senior Assassin” shot gel bullets at unsuspecting students. According to police, two minors were hit by what appeared to be BB guns or similar gel-like projectiles, while a third managed to avoid being struck. Thankfully, no serious injuries were reported.
Authorities quickly identified one of the students involved and seized an Orbeez-type gel-throwing gun used in the incident. The suspect has been taken into custody, facing multiple charges including two counts of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and one count of assault with a dangerous weapon. His identity hasn’t been disclosed yet.
This incident has been tied to the “Senior Assassin” game, which is popular among graduating seniors. The game often involves using non-lethal items, like water guns, and targets other participants. Interestingly, police noted that one of the victims was not part of the game.
Authorities emphasized that this activity was not school-sanctioned and could easily escalate into dangerous scenarios. In a statement, the Lawrence Police urged caution, saying, “While these games may seem innocent, they can lead to serious consequences.”
Across various states, law enforcement officials have increased their warnings about the game due to its reliance on realistic-looking toy weapons and ambush tactics, which have caused safety concerns and emergency responses.
In light of recent events, police in Connecticut have advised participants to use brightly colored water guns that cannot be mistaken for real firearms. They also cautioned against playing while driving and emphasized the need to avoid trespassing or targeting anyone not involved in the game.
