Matt Rife Becomes Guardian of Ed and Lorraine Warren’s Haunted Museum

Comedian Matt Rife has made headlines with his recent purchase of a home in Connecticut that belonged to renowned paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren. Along with fellow YouTuber Elton Casty, Rife is now the “legal guardian” of the infamous Annabelle doll.

In a TikTok announcement, Rife expressed his excitement, describing the Warrens as pivotal to bringing paranormal investigations into the mainstream. He described their work as a significant part of both history and horror culture.

The Monroe, Connecticut residence is linked to the couple’s extensive investigation into over 3,000 paranormal events, inspiring films like *The Conjuring* and *The Amityville Horror*.

“Movies about summoning demons are my favorite,” Rife mentioned. “So I’m really honored to take over this landmark in paranormal history.”

While Rife has not disclosed the price of the property, the museum still houses various ghostly artifacts that the Warrens collected, including a piece of a plane wreck and an organ that reportedly plays by itself.

One of the most notable items is the Annabelle doll, encased with a warning not to open it. The doll comes with a chilling backstory, having been linked to terrifying events in the past, including accusations of moving on its own and leaving creepy messages.

The doll was part of a tour led by paranormal investigator Dan Rivera, who recently passed away unexpectedly. His death raised a few questions, though police noted that nothing suspicious was found at the scene.

Despite the recent events, Rife is embracing this new chapter. He stated that he and Casty are not technically owners but rather legal guardians of the museum and its collection for at least the next five years.

Plans for reopening the museum are in motion, with an intention to conduct tours and even sleep overnight on the premises to connect with its haunted history.

Rife humorously remarked on the unusual nature of his new hobby, suggesting it might be better if he collected stamps instead.

Moving forward, the new owners will need to address some fire safety concerns regarding the property, as noted by local news sources.

Rife concluded with the sentiment, “I can’t believe we are the new owners. It’s surreal sitting on their porch and looking at all their memorabilia. We aim to make this the best paranormal investigation site out there.”

The museum has been closed to the public since 2019 due to certain zoning issues, but Rife appears determined to revive it.
