Matthew Perry’s Belongings Up for Auction Following His Death

Nearly three years after Matthew Perry’s untimely passing, some of his cherished items are now set to be auctioned off.

Current bidding includes several personal possessions, like the scripts for both the pilot and final episodes of “Friends.”

Notably, the cover of the original 1994 pilot episode script features signatures from his co-stars Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, and David Schwimmer. The same actors also signed the cover of his final episode script from 2004.

Perry’s estate is auctioning significant pieces, including Banksy’s iconic 2005 painting “Girl with Balloons,” which is valued at around $800,000, along with another work by the artist, titled “Nora (Gray Rain),” estimated to be worth over $40,000.

Moreover, Perry’s wardrobe, personal guitar, jewelry, and a comprehensive collection of “Friends” VHS and DVDs are all included in the auction.

The auction is being conducted by Heritage Auctions, with proceeds benefiting the Matthew Perry Foundation, an organization focused on reducing the stigma associated with substance use disorders.

Perry was discovered deceased in his Jacuzzi on October 28, 2023, at just 54 years old.

The coroner later revealed that Perry’s death resulted from “the acute effects of ketamine,” and mentioned drowning, coronary artery disease, and buprenorphine as contributing factors.

In 2024, federal prosecutors charged five individuals with conspiracy and distribution of ketamine related to Perry’s death. Three of those accused—including Perry’s live-in assistant Kenneth Iwamasa, drug counselor Eric Fleming, and Dr. Mark Chavez—pleaded guilty.

In the following year, two additional defendants, Dr. Salvador Plasencia and Jasveen Sanha, known as the “Queen of Ketamine,” also pleaded guilty. Sangha received a 15-year federal prison sentence for running a drug trafficking operation and providing Perry with the fatal dose, while Dr. Plasencia was given a 30-month term. Dr. Chavez faced eight months of house arrest for cooperating with the investigation. Fleming received two years in federal prison followed by three years of supervised release.

Iwamasa is slated to be sentenced next week. Last December, Perry’s “Friends” co-stars came together for a charity fundraiser supporting the Matthew Perry Foundation. Aniston, Cox, Schwimmer, LeBlanc, and Kudrow participated by signing various items for the charity.
