Max Verstappen’s dad calls for Christian Horner’s ouster amid scandal

Family members connected to Red Bull Racing’s top drivers have spoken out about the controversy surrounding the team.

Jos Verstappen, father of star racer Max Verstappen. told the Daily Mail On Saturday, the race team remained in a “stressful state” with Horner serving as team principal.

“The team is on the verge of splitting,” former racer Joss told the magazine. “We can’t keep going like this. It’s going to explode. He’s playing the victim when he’s the one causing the problem.”

Horner was cleared by the racing organization of a workplace misconduct scandal earlier this week, but as of Thursday the scandal was still engulfing Red Bull Racing’s leadership.

Parts of a message Mr Horner allegedly sent to a female employee at the team’s Milton Keynes headquarters were leaked to hundreds of people, including journalists.

The alleged messages included comments to employees about Spanx and spreading their legs.

Horner denied the charges against him Thursday.

He attended Saturday’s Bahrain Grand Prix with his ex-Spice Girl wife Geri Halliwell, and the pair held hands and shared a kiss before the race started.

Max had another big day for Red Bull as they cruised to an easy victory.

After Saturday’s race, Horner told Sky Sports.said the team is “coming together” off the racetrack as well.

“That’s right. We are a very strong team,” he told the media. “We have great support, great partners and major shareholders as well.

“We cannot achieve these results if we are not united.”

Horner added that he plans to compete in next week’s Saudi Arabian Grand Prix.

On Friday, three-time reigning world champion Max backed Horner’s achievements as a racing head.

“Listen, when you look at how Christian conducts himself within the team, he’s an unbelievable team boss and from a performance standpoint, there’s no doubt about that.” He said. According to ESPN.

Verstappen added that his focus was on the “performance side”.

Speaking to reporters after Saturday’s win, the racer said he was happy to be racing.

“Today went better than I expected,” Verstappen said, according to the Associated Press. “That was very fun.”
