JD Vance shared an emotional homage to Pope Francis following the death of the 88-year-old clergyman.
“I just learned that Pope Francis has passed away. My heart is directed at millions of Christians around the world who love him.” Vance wrote on x.
“He was obviously very sick, but I was happy to see him yesterday. But I always remember him for the holy man below, which he gave on a very early day in the community. It’s really so beautiful.
Following the prolonged battle with dual pneumonia, the Pope’s death comes within a day when the Vatican had what he described as a “short” encounter with Vance, a Catholic convert since 2019.
The Vice President mostly met with Cardinal Pietro Parolin, Secretary of State of the Vatican, and Foreign Minister and Archbishop Peter Gallagher. Deportation Agendawho recently warned the beloved Pope that he would strip the migrant of his dignity.

The Pope has long been in conflict with the current administration, writing a missile to American bishops who had plunged into the Trump administration’s immigration policy in February, calling it a “major crisis.”
“In many cases, deporting people who have left their land due to extreme poverty, anxiety, exploitation, persecution, or severe deterioration of the environment undermines the dignity of many men and women, as well as all families, resulting in a certain state of vulnerability and vulnerability,” he wrote.
Despite the differences, Vance and Francis traded something wonderful, and the Holy Father gave him three chocolate Easter eggs for his children.
