Spencer Pratt, a former reality TV star and now a mayoral candidate in Los Angeles, has made waves by criticizing the current mayor, Karen Bass. He accused her of taking advantage of the suffering experienced by victims of the recent Pacific Palisades fire.
On “The Will Cain Show,” he described the situation as “insane” and “psycho,” yet not surprising. His remarks followed the release of political ads targeting Bass and other candidates, suggesting they live in luxury while homeless people and crime run rampant in their city.
In one of these ads, Pratt claimed that Bass’s home, valued at $3.8 million, was destroyed by the fire, forcing her to live in a mobile home.
He went on to assert that some prominent figures secretly support his criticisms of California’s leadership, though he seemed to worry about the potential impact on his own career.
Bass, however, countered by accusing Pratt of exploiting the tragedy for his own public relations boost after his reality TV fame waned. “He’s capitalizing on the sadness,” she remarked, suggesting that he was more focused on reclaiming his celebrity status.
Pratt responded, insisting that his ad presents the truth, lamenting that politicians like Bass don’t face the fallout from their decisions. He claimed he was merely pointing out the realities of their actions.
He raised serious allegations against Bass, who won the 2022 election by a substantial margin, including claims of obstruction of justice. Pratt was highly critical, stating, “This is the same woman who burned down 7,000 homes and was caught in cover-ups,” and labeled her actions as “disgusting.”
Adding fuel to the fire, Pratt further claimed that Bass acted irresponsibly during the Palisades fire to benefit Kamala Harris, alleging that she secured a discount on a Malibu property worth over $8 million.
In an endorsement, Harris praised Bass for her efforts, claiming she achieved historic reductions in homelessness and crime, while also reiterating her support for Bass’s re-election. Yet, Pratt seemed undeterred, maintaining that her political choices were questionable.
In a tone of mockery, he dismissed Bass’s interactions with Trump, dubbing her a “Maga Karen” and questioning her alliances. He noted, “She’ll accept any support to continue her career as a corrupt politician,” casting doubt on the sincerity of her relationships.
As the controversy continues to swirl, Fox News Digital has sought further comment from the mayor’s office.
