On FNC’s “Jesse Watters Prime Time,” former House Speaker Kevin McCarthy said he saw Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) emerge as a Democratic leader.
He predicted a civil war in which Ocasio-Cortez and Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) face off against former President Joe Biden, former Vice President Kamala Harris, former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY), and House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-Nee).
“[T]He is supposed to unite the party, but what we see live is a civil war within the Democratic Party, and they are fighting for new leadership,” he said. Remembering that the AOC did the exact same thing a few years ago, the party tried to close her when she primaryized other members of the Congress. However, she raised the most money of all members of Congress in the last quarter. She has won the biggest crowd. ”
“This is what I predict. They’re going to fight to see who will be the leader of this party,” McCarthy added. “Now it’s really AOC and Bernie Sanders. But this is what happens. They’re going to play against Joe Biden, Kamala Harris, Nancy Pelosi, Schumer and Haycombe. That’s a motivational factor.
