McDonald's aims to further enhance the chicken business through more products.
CEO Chris Kemputzynski said on Monday that McDonald was extremely bullish about his chicken portfolio, sharing several offerings in the pipeline, in the company's fourth quarter revenue. It has been shown.
“There's an incredible energy to bring snack wraps back in the US this year along with several other markets,” he told analysts and investors.
According to Kempczinksi, McDonald's plans to also introduce “new chicken strip products” to the US.
The fast food giant revealed at the end of last year that it would be returning snack wraps to the menu. It's been about eight years since McDonald's provided fan favorites in the US
“There's cult support for this,” McDonald's US President Joe Arlinger told “Good Morning America” in December. “I get so many emails in my inbox about this product. I'll be back in 2025.”
On the revenue call, Kempkinski was tightly closed when asked about the details of the snack wrap and chicken strip.
“We think some very exciting food news, food innovations will come in the US, but my US team will kill me for when and precise details of how I plan. What we do is certainly hope that it will be online later in the year,” he said.
Kempczinski also said the fast food giant “continues to pulsate the chicken big mac as a limited time offer over time.”
McDonald's served the Chicken Big Mac – a sandwich made between two chicken pate, a special sauce, lettuce, cheese and pickles between two breads – in a limited US restaurant in October. Restaurants from other countries have also sold in the past.
According to the CEO of McDonald's, Chicken Big Mac “helped in generating growth in chicken market share in France and the US” last year.
McDonald's is also bringing McCrispy to more and more markets. Fox Business previously reported that this menu item exceeded the threshold and became one of the fast food giant's billion-dollar brands in 2023.
Restaurants in more than 70 markets now sell McCrispy, and McDonald's plans to make it available in “almost every market” by the end of the year, Kempczynski said.
“We are excited about the important opportunities we will see within our chicken portfolio and believe we may add another point of chicken market share by the end of 2026,” he said with analysts. He told investors.
McDonald's generated approximately $63.9 billion in total revenue in the fourth quarter. Meanwhile, its quarterly net income reached almost $220 million.
For a year, the fast food giant had revenues of $25.92 billion and net profits of $8.22 billion.
