In recent weeks, establishment media figures have claimed that President Joe Biden’s health is “serious” and that speculation to the contrary is “age discrimination” and a conspiracy theory from “right-wing media.” He defended President Biden’s “poor” memory.
The media’s defense is the latest effort to support Biden, who is trailing former President Donald Trump in 2024 national polls.
The media appears to have felt compelled to defend Biden both before and after Special Counsel Robert Hur described the president as an “old man with a bad memory” in his report on the Biden classified documents scandal.
