Media Misses the Mark as Trump Surpasses Obama’s Job Approval Rating

Trump’s Job Approval Compared to Obama

President Trump has recently surpassed former President Obama in job approval ratings for this date in their respective second terms.

Specifically, on June 4, 2013, Obama’s average approval was recorded at 47.1%. Fast forward to today, just twelve years later, and Trump’s approval stands at 47.5% during his own second term.

This is a notable comparison considering that Trump also outscored former President George W. Bush on this same date in 2005.

The narrative suggests that corporate media has less influence over public opinion than it once did. While Obama’s presidency was celebrated and often romanticized by the media, Trump’s presidency is frequently portrayed in a much darker light.

Most people have become aware of the media’s tendency to lean towards Democrats and spread falsehoods that shield them while vilifying Republicans. As a result, when media coverage of Trump becomes overwhelmingly negative, public perception shifts, and the media’s impact lessens.

It’s essential to recognize that Obama was often viewed as a media darling, eliciting strong support and admiration for his youth, charisma, and status as the first black president. He was seen as faultless in many eyes.

In stark contrast, Trump embodies what many in the media oppose. Despite facing extensive media opposition and corporate funding against him, he has managed to gain more popularity than Obama at this point.

This shift is noteworthy and perhaps not something I thought I’d witness in my lifetime. The adoration for Obama juxtaposed with the animosity towards Trump has been striking. It’s satisfying to see a decline in the media’s favorable standing.
