As an event-based company, Single and The City helps match people who are looking for a specific type of person, regardless of their type.

Those in demand may be first responders, such as firefighters, police officers, or emergency medical technicians. Or maybe you’re a healthy and active person. There’s something for everyone, said Austin native Amber Soletti, founder of Single and The City.
“It was in 2008. [and] “I lived in New York City and worked in the beauty industry, and the few men I worked with were gay or married,” she told FOX News Digital about her background.

She further added, “I hadn’t met the single type.” [that] Since I was interested in dating, I decided I needed to start my own singles company to raise the bar with the goal of meeting someone through my events. ”
Singles and the City currently hosts events for singles to socialize in New York City. Austin, Texas. and New Orleans, Louisiana.

Soletti said Singles and The City hosts events based on “dating deal-breakers,” including events based on physical preferences, shared interests and backgrounds.
One of Soletti’s most popular events is called the “Rescue Me” singles party, where women “mingle with some of New York’s most qualified emergency responders.”

The event typically draws between 75 and 250 people, and the men are required to show agency ID at check-in to prove they are first responders.
From there, women are given icebreaker cards with first responder trivia questions to help them approach different men without feeling nervous or uncomfortable.

“Women also get a red dot when they check in, which is their vote for the most attractive first responder, which they give to the man they think is the most attractive,” she said.
Other popular events include Ivy League Dating, Finance Dating, Size Matters, Fleet Week, and Jewish Speed Dating.

Soletti told Fox News Digital that attendance for Single and the City is up 67% this year compared to last year, largely because people are frustrated and fatigued with the app. He said that this is because of the

“So much time is wasted on dating apps and sites reading profiles, swiping, corresponding, and waiting for responses,” she says.
“In-person events are a great way to meet a large number of singles in one night and quickly determine if you have chemistry with someone and want to go on a first date.”

Alana Carvalho, a relationship expert known online as “The Codependent Perfectionist,” told Fox News Digital in her book that social events for dates are a “yes.”

Soletti, who is 5’10 tall, met her 6’7 husband Juan Cabrera at a 2012 “Size Matters” speed dating event.
They now have a 6-year-old daughter, Nora, who often comes to events and helps with check-ins and handing out name tags.
