An Illinois Mega Millions player won a $560 million jackpot Tuesday night, ending a more than two-month drought.
The winning numbers were 19, 37, 40, 63, 69 and the golden Mega Ball 17.
This was the ninth largest jackpot prize in the game’s history.
The lucky winner will have the choice of receiving the $560 million directly or a lump sum of $264 million.
Tuesday night’s win marks the second time the Mega Millions jackpot has topped $500 million since last summer.
It also marks the first time a grand prize has been won since March 26, when a lucky player in New Jersey purchased a ticket worth $1.13 billion.
The odds of a Mega Millions player winning the jackpot in any drawing are 1 in 302,575,350.
The March jackpot prize was the fifth-largest in the game’s history.
Life-changing tickets sold at ShopRite Liquor on Route 66 in Neptune Township.
The New Jersey grocery store received a $30,000 bonus check for selling the winning ticket.
The prize, which could be paid in annual installments of $1.13 billion over 30 years or a lump sum of an estimated $537.5 million, has yet to be claimed by a winner.
Under New Jersey law, lottery winners can remain anonymous and claim their prize money up to one year after the drawing.
