Meghan Markle’s Fashion Shift Sends a Message to the Royals

Meghan Markle appears to be making a “deliberate” statement to the Royal Family through her style choices for Season 2 of her Netflix show, “Meghan.” According to Cynthia Kennedy, a personal stylist from California, the Duchess of Sussex has opted for a more “modern” aesthetic in her upcoming lifestyle series.

Kennedy mentioned, “Her changing style sends a clear message—she no longer feels the need to dress like a duchess. She’s embracing her individuality, aiming to be more approachable and authentic.” It seems Markle’s fashion evolution is intentional, designed to convey comfort and relatability while still maintaining a sense of sophistication.

There’s definitely a noticeable change in Markle’s wardrobe since the first season, which debuted on Netflix in March. Kennedy observed that, in Season 1, her style adhered to a very polished, duchess-like presentation characterized by clean tailoring and structured pieces. “It conveyed a sense of refinement that felt almost formal,” she added.

In contrast, Markle’s Season 2 looks are described as soft, relaxed, and fun, featuring cozy knits, refreshing dresses, and casual silhouettes that still carry an air of elegance. Kennedy noted that this new approach isn’t about being a public figure on display but rather about inviting women at home into her world.

“Meghan has always been mindful of the image she projects,” Kennedy reflected, suggesting that this softer wardrobe choice seems quite intentional. It feels as though Markle is no longer prioritizing traditional ‘loyalty’ in her appearance; instead, she’s connecting with her audience on a level that resonates with modern women, wives, and mothers.

This shift reflects a move towards a warmer, more grounded aesthetic that is inherently relatable. After all, it’s crucial to strike a balance between personal expression and public perception.

Last week, Markle and a fellow mom released the highly anticipated trailer for the upcoming season of her lifestyle show. In the trailer, Markle invites celebrity friends to a rented home near her real residence in Montecito, California, where she prepares a variety of meals, offering viewers a glimpse into her culinary world.

Markle’s relocation to North America in 2020 followed her departure from the royal family, and she remains distanced from some relatives. Season 2 of “Love, Meghan” is set to premiere on Netflix on August 26.
