Meghan Markle Discusses Life After Royalty

Meghan Markle has shed some light on her experiences in royal life.

The 44-year-old Duchess of Sussex stepped down as a senior member of the royal family in 2020 and moved to the U.S. with her husband, Prince Harry.

In a recent interview with Emily Chan from Bloomberg, Markle expressed her frustrations about “always having to wear nude pantyhose.”

Promoting the second season of her Netflix series “Love, Meghan,” Markle reflected on being more herself in this latest installment.

“A few years ago, I didn’t get that vocal, so I always had to wear nude pantyhose,” she shared. “To be honest, it wasn’t my own style. I hadn’t even seen pantyhose since the ’80s in movies. It felt a bit like cheating.”

She described it as a trivial example but emphasized the importance of dressing authentically. “When you can dress the way you want, it’s about being comfortable in your own skin,” she added, noting that this marked a new chapter in her life.

“Now I don’t feel like I need to prove anything,” she concluded.

Just hours after the release of eight new episodes of her lifestyle show, her interview aired as well.

The second season follows a similar format to the first, where Markle shares tips and insights while blending her interests at home.

This season features appearances from celebrities like Chrissy Teigen, Tan France, and Jay Shetty.

However, critics in the U.K. were quick to pounce on the show, describing it as “tone deaf” and highlighting its self-indulgent nature.

One review likened the latest episode to being “slightly crazier” than the first season.

Another publication labeled it a “series for meanings set on the frontlines by women who need cash,” while Royal editor Matt Wilkinson criticized it as being more about self-satisfaction.

Meanwhile, some viewers found the episode “painful” to watch. Chef Jameson Stock, who previously cooked for the royal family, shared his disappointment, saying, “I tried to stay open-minded, hoping it would be better than the first series. But within two minutes, I was already cringing.” He advised Markle to return to acting, feeling her series lacked honesty.
