Meghan Markle Reveals She Has Been Aware of Child Porn Claims Against Her Father Since 2018

Meghan Markle Reacts to Allegations Against Her Father

Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex, is facing scrutiny regarding her response to a probe concerning child sex abuse material allegedly linked to her father’s former residence.

According to a report by the Sun, Thomas Markle Jr., her half-brother, informed police that he discovered “hundreds, if not thousands” of child sex abuse images stored in four large boxes at their father Thomas Markle Sr.’s former home in the Philippines.

The duchess acknowledged that she has been aware of these “disturbing allegations” against her father since 2018. “I am deeply distressed at the news that has come to light in the last 24 hours, and my thoughts are with any children who may have been harmed,” Markle stated.

She mentioned that a letter was sent to the Metropolitan Police and Royalty and Specialist Protection in 2018, which contained allegations against her father. “That letter was subsequently shared with me. It made troubling and disturbing allegations against my father, and I was assured that these were being investigated,” she said.

Markle expressed that the past media coverage of her strained relationship with her father should now be reconsidered in light of the new information. “I hope it can now be understood that, despite certain media publications’ distortion over the years, any distance from my father and my choice to not allow him to have contact with our children was for one reason: to protect them,” she elaborated.

“I trusted that the authorities were doing the same for other families,” she added, highlighting her belief in the importance of child safety.

It’s worth noting that Thomas Markle Sr. did not attend his daughter’s wedding to Prince Harry in 2018, which attracted considerable media attention. Interestingly, reported accounts indicate that Meghan was not aware of the allegations against her father until after her marriage.

The duchess and Prince Harry are parents to two children, Prince Archie, who is 7, and Princess Lilibet, who is 5.

“Although the breadth of what has now been uncovered is more sickening than one could ever imagine, my sincerest hope is that justice will be fully served and that the priority remains the safety and protection of innocent children,” Markle told the Sun.

On the other hand, Thomas Markle Sr. has denied the allegations, labeling them as “sick lies” in comments made to the Daily Mail. The investigation into the matter is ongoing, as confirmed by Nicholas Ty, a representative from the Philippines Department of Justice, who stated it is being handled by a task force focused on anti-human trafficking and child exploitation.

The Interior Minister of the Philippines, Jonvic Remulla, also mentioned that local police have seized Thomas Markle Sr.’s computer to conduct a thorough digital forensic analysis.

Piers Morgan commented on the situation, calling it shocking and suggesting that if the allegations are true, he must face the full consequences of the law. He raised questions about why police did not arrest Markle Sr. if they had alerted Meghan to such serious allegations in 2018, which ultimately led her to sever contacts with him. Additionally, some have pointed out that Markle’s years of silence on the matter, despite her public advocacy for child welfare, raises questions about her judgment and moral consistency.

Among the reactions on social media, users expressed skepticism towards Markle’s credibility and called attention to comments made by Prince Harry regarding the family’s distance from Thomas Markle Sr.
