Meghan Markle is keeping her family close as Prince Harry recently faced a setback in his attempt to secure taxpayer-funded protection in the UK.
On Instagram, the 43-year-old Duchess of Sussex shared a photo featuring Harry and their two children: Prince Archie, 4, and Princess Lilibet, 2.
The black-and-white photo shows Harry holding Archie’s hand while Lilibet sits atop his shoulder, capturing a moment in their garden in Montecito, California.
Interestingly, Markle turned off comments on the post and didn’t provide any caption.
This past weekend, Harry encountered a significant loss regarding his legal battle for publicly funded security during a recent hearing.
The legal team asserted that Harry was not entitled to public security as he had stepped away from royal responsibilities. The London High Court had previously ruled in February that Harry and his family would lose this protection.
After the ruling, Harry expressed feeling “devastated” about the court’s decision, having attended the hearing last month.
He reflected on the potential motives behind the ruling, suggesting that some may view it as a victory but questioning whether safety should not be a shared concern among all parties involved, including the government and his family.
Harry mentioned he would be reluctant to take his wife and children back to the UK again, noting that Markle hasn’t visited since Queen Elizabeth’s funeral in September 2022.
He expressed love for his country, mentioning how he misses parts of it, adding that it saddens him he can’t show his children where he grew up.
Moreover, Harry confirmed that he remains estranged from his father, King Charles III, who was diagnosed with cancer last year, and remarked on the importance of reconciling, noting, “Life is precious.”
