Meghan McCain, daughter of the late Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.), on Wednesday rejected an offer by Republican Arizona Senate candidate Kari Lake to meet with her amid a feud between the two.
“No peace, bitch!” McCain said in the post On X, the platform formerly known as Twitter, he responded to Lake’s post on Wednesday inviting him to meet.
In his invitation post, Lake said he values McCain’s “family” and “your passion for our country.”
“I hope you’ll buy me a beer, coffee, or lunch and brainstorm ways we can all work together to strengthen our nation,” Lake said. I wrote it in the post. “My team is sending you my contact information. It would mean a lot to me if you would like to meet.”
Mr. McCain’s response Wednesday to Mr. Lake’s invitation followed a post on Tuesday, in which Mr. McCain said that Mr. Lake “told my father (and his family) and all of his loyal supporters to ‘get the hell out of here.’ “We are trying to reverse the continued attacks.”
“I think she realized she couldn’t be in the Senate without us,” McCain continued. “There’s no peace, bitch. We see you as you are, and we’re repulsed by it.”
At a campaign event while running for Grand Canyon governor in 2022, Lake told “McCain Republicans” to “get the hell out of there.”
In an interview Monday on KTAR News 92.3FM’s “Candid Thoughts with Bruce and Gaydos,” Lake said the comment was “just a joke.” And if John McCain, who has a great sense of humor, heard that, I’m sure he would have laughed. ”
“I want your vote. Whether you’re a McCain guy… if you call yourself a McCain Republican, you call yourself a centrist Republican, a Trump Republican, an America First Republican. If so, I want your vote. And guess what? “I want independent votes, I want disaffected Democrats, and there are a lot of people who are waking up and saying, ‘This isn’t going to work,'” she said.
