Meghan Trainor has revealed that she’s keen to take Katy Perry’s spot on “American Idol.”

In February, the 39-year-old “Roar” hitmaker and longtime “American Idol” judge announced she would be leaving the popular singing competition show after the conclusion of season 22.

On Wednesday, Traynor, 30, Cast After judge Luke Bryan and host Ryan Seacrest said she’d be perfect for the role on “Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen,” fans called in asking if she was in negotiations to replace Perry on the show.

“I went to every interview in the world saying this was my dream job, and I emailed three amazing people who work in that world who don’t have the final say,” Trainor said, “but I begged.”

“I’ve been begging for this job,” she continued. “I haven’t heard anything yet, so check your email. But this is my dream job. I want to drive to work on ‘American Idol’ and then drive home after.”

The Grammy winner explained that she’s a longtime fan of the show and loves watching the contestants’ journey from audition to becoming superstars.

“I love being a part of their process,” Trainor said. “I feel very attached to it. It’s like my favorite show. I’ve been watching it since I was a kid.”

“We need to get you on the show, Luke!” Cohen, 56, yelled.

After Trainor appeared as a coach on an April episode of “American Idol,” Bryan and Seacrest voiced their opinions on the possibility of the “All About That Bass” singer replacing Perry.

Perry voiced her support for country singer Jelly Roll to take her place after he appeared as a guest mentor on American Idol.

“When Jelly Roll came on the show, I have to say he was totally crazy,” Perry told E! News in May. “I believed anything he said. I could run for president. I could be a pastor. I might even go back to church for him. He would sell me anything.”

Perry, along with Brian and fellow judge Lionel Richie, thought Jerry would be the perfect person to mentor the young artists onstage.
