Meghan Trainor has decided to cancel her upcoming tour to focus on her young children, a choice that sparked considerable criticism online.
On April 16, she took to Instagram to express her regret about the abrupt change. Her “Get in Girl Tour” was set to kick off in Michigan on June 12, as previously reported.
“After much thought and some challenging discussions, I’ve made the tough choice to pull the plug on The Get In Girl Tour,” she explained.
“Juggling the release of a new album, getting ready for a nationwide tour, and welcoming our new baby girl into our family of five has become too much for me right now. I really need to be at home and present for everyone,” Trainor said.
“I understand this news might disappoint my fans, and I’m truly sorry for that,” she added, assuring them that she intends to return to performing as soon as possible.
Despite her heartfelt reasons, many social media users reacted negatively, mocking her decision. Some accused her of canceling due to poor ticket sales instead of the family commitments she cited.
“Just admit ticket sales were low. Own it,” remarked one user on X.
Another criticized her, stating, “The tickets weren’t selling, and she’s hiding behind her kids as an excuse. No justification! Cardi B is on a sold-out world tour with four kids to care for, and she’s a single mom. Just give the truth.”
One commenter even took issue with Trainor welcoming her youngest child via surrogate, saying, “Can you imagine how tough it would have been for her if she had actually given birth? Celebrities really irritate me.”
Another individual quipped, “I’m sure the seven people who bought tickets will be disappointed.”
Trainor and her husband, Daryl Sabara, welcomed their third child through surrogacy in January, according to reports. She has not yet addressed the backlash she has received.
