Mel Kiper can’t stop ranting about Shedeur Sanders’ ‘disgusting’ NFL free fall

Shedeur Sanders’ bewildering NFL draft slides don’t sit well with Mel Kiper Jr.

The longtime ESPN draft guru has not been shy about vocalizing his feelings about a polarized Colorado quarterback who has yet to find a home in the third round.

Kuiper ranted about Sanders’ free fall, calling him “unsavory” because he had never heard of his name called Friday.

“I don’t like it,” Kiper said.

“I don’t know what’s going on with this. The fifth player on the board has never happened in 47 years when that high player fell into the fourth round of quarterback.”

Kiper also emphasized that while Sanders sat there, “In my opinion, it’s not as good as Chedur, not as close as Chedur as Chedur. The accuracy, sturdyness, and strength of the arms are certainly sufficient, and good enough.

“I can’t see [not having] Rocket arms and 4.6 speeds, a big frame, a 6-foot-3, a 230-pound frame, what does he lack? Someone would have to explain it to me. ”

The long-time draft guru believes in Sanders, so he ranked his best quarterbacks into the draft.

He placed Sanders as the fifth overall player on his big board. He came first ahead of fellow quarterback Cam Ward.

After Sanders didn’t land with the team on the first day, Kipper listed Sanders as his No. 1 player and said that he was still on the board “no point.”

“Shedale Sanders was able to go to 102 picks and the end (Friday) without being selected. That’s pointless.” Kiper said. “This kid should have been a draft choice for the first round.”

Kuiper had arguably his biggest rant of his biggest night after the Seattle Seahawks chose Alabama quarterback Jalen Milroe using his third draft selection in Pick No. 92.

For the most, if not all, Sanders expected to be drafted before Milllow.

“The pocket passerby, a traditional old-fashioned pocket passerby, told the NFL they had to prove themselves,” he said. “The NFL doesn’t get hooked on those little guys. They really didn’t jump at the opportunity to get a quarterback. Payton Manning, people were discussing Ryan Leaf. Bill Polian took him along. This was Shedeur Sanders.

“But he has a quarterback with the kind of ability he showed under compulsive, accurate, decision-makers. By the way, Atlanta Brave House.

Kuiper continues. “And whatever perception is, I don’t know what people are thinking when Chedure Sanders is part of your soccer team.

Sanders is still on the third day of the draft on the board after three rounds and 102 picks (including five quarterbacks) despite many consensus mock drafts and big boards praise him as a top two or top three signal caller in his class.
