Melania Trump’s Response During Assassination Attempt

A senior adviser to Melania Trump recently shared insights about the first lady’s reaction during a chaotic incident at the White House Correspondents’ Association dinner. Armed suspects allegedly attempted to assassinate President Donald Trump and other officials that night.

Mark Beckman, the senior adviser, emphasized Melania’s composure. “She wasn’t scared. She was in complete control. She knew what she had to do,” he said in a video interview.

The chaos erupted at the Washington Hilton during the annual event when a gunman infiltrated the premises. Secret Service agents quickly evacuated the president and first lady as guests dove for cover. This incident marked the first time Melania was present during an assassination attempt on her husband, although it wasn’t the first threat against him.

Beckman further explained that Melania displayed strength throughout the ordeal, indicating that fortunately, everyone at the event remained unharmed. “She was really happy at the end of the day,” he noted.

In the midst of the turmoil, the first lady took cover as advised by Secret Service personnel and encouraged others at her table to do the same. There was a fleeting expression of shock on Melania’s face, which some interpreted as a reaction to the sound of gunfire. However, Beckman clarified that her reaction stemmed from another event occurring at that moment. “She is a mentalist,” he stated, referring to a performance that caught them all by surprise.

After the situation calmed down, Melania joined her husband and other officials, who had also evacuated to the press room. While addressing the media later, President Trump reported feeling “very well” following the attack.

Beckman reinforced the critical role of the Secret Service, echoing gratitude for their efforts. “They have done a great job time and time again,” he reiterated, highlighting Melania’s respect for security personnel and military services.

He also mentioned that Melania is proud of her responsibilities as the first lady, describing her as hardworking and determined to keep moving forward.
