Toys for Tots Drive at Quantico

On December 8, 2025, First Lady Melania Trump took part in the annual Toys for Tots Drive at the Marine Corps Base in Quantico, Virginia. Arriving in a V-22 Osprey alongside Santa Claus, she engaged with military families and children, delivering toys and joining in various activities.

This event aims to spread holiday cheer to the children of service members and those in need, upholding a U.S. Marine Corps Reserve tradition that spans over 75 years.

When Melania arrived, she shared a festive story with the gathered children. She explained, “You might be wondering why Santa asked me to bring him here today. Well, this wonderful adventure is filled with Christmas sparkle and lots of love. Santa’s reindeer – Rudolph, Dasher, Comet, all of them – they’re resting in the North Pole… They need to save all of their energy for their great flight around the world on Christmas Eve.”

She emphasized how Toys for Tots has become “one of the most beloved traditions of the holiday season.”

During her visit, Melania interacted with a shy little girl, kneeling beside her to have a warm conversation. This touching moment was captured in photos, showcasing her genuine connection with the kids present.

Before continuing her rounds, the First Lady acknowledged the volunteers who make the event possible, saying, “For more than 75 years, Marines and volunteers across America collect and deliver new toys to children who need a little extra joy during Christmas. You help bring the delight of Christmas morning to millions of children.”

The First Lady concluded her speech with heartfelt wishes for everyone. She suggested, “This Christmas season, you, your friends, and your families should wish for the ultimate gift: love. After all, love travels further than Santa’s sleigh. Thank you, and Merry Christmas, and happy and healthy New Year.”

The Marine Toys for Tots initiative has been a source of joy for disadvantaged children since 1991, aiming to provide hope during the holidays. The foundation’s mission is straightforward: to bring tangible signs of hope to economically disadvantaged children at Christmas.

In the days leading up to Christmas, Melania has also visited a children’s hospital in Washington, D.C., where she read Christmas stories to young patients, wishing them a Merry Christmas and a lot of strength and love.
