Israel Alerts US on Iran’s Assassination Plot Against Trump

Recently, Israel informed the United States about a purported plot by Iran aimed at assassinating President Trump.

The news of this scheme comes amid ongoing threats from the Iranian government targeting Trump, especially following the 2020 killing of Qasem Soleimani, a commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, by U.S. forces. I mean, it seems like this has been hanging over Trump’s head for quite a while.

In response to inquiries, the White House directed attention to President Trump’s comments during a NATO summit in Ankara, where he touched on the matter.

“They want to remove the leader of the United States, and that is me,” Trump mentioned. “I’m on every list. I checked this morning, and yes, I’m on all of them. So far, I’ve been lucky, but I doubt that will last,” he added, with a hint of resignation.

He also stated, “These are evil, sick people. We have to eradicate that cancer. You know, if you want to tackle cancer, you have to cut it out early. That’s how I see it.” Pretty intense perspective, right?

On a different note, Trump traveled to Turkey aboard Qatar’s new “Palace in the Sky” aircraft but returned on Air Force One. The switch was described as a strategic “diversion” to ensure his safety.

Interestingly, Army Secretary Pete Hegseth, who was with the president, was advised not to fly to Israel as initially intended, right before Trump decided to change planes in Turkey. Whether this shift was connected to the Iranian threat remains uncertain.

The details surrounding the alleged plot weren’t fully disclosed in the report. Earlier this week, Israelis alerted U.S. officials about the threat. According to CNN, this specific danger wasn’t previously on American authorities’ radar.

The warning emerged during a period of heightened tensions, not just with Iran, but also between President Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Just a while back, Trump expressed concerns to Netanyahu regarding an attack in Lebanon, labeling it “insane” due to its potential to spark another conflict with Iran.

As the two leaders have connected at least twice since their difficult phone conversation on June 1, it’s been noted that tensions remain. Recently, banners proclaiming revenge against Trump appeared in Tehran, coinciding with the mourning of Iran’s late supreme leader, Ayatollah Khamenei. Some placards proclaimed, “We will kill Trump,” while crowds displayed banners with similar threats.
