Melissa Ashworth honored her late husband, Brandon Blackstock, following his death at the age of 48.
The talent manager, who was married to Ashworth from 2001 to 2012, died on August 7 after facing a long battle with melanoma, a severe type of skin cancer.
“On May 29, 1999, I married a man who would become my child’s father,” Ashworth shared on Instagram. Over the weekend, she posted moments with their son Seth (18) and daughter Savannah (23), alongside Savannah’s husband, Quentin Lee.
The tribute included nostalgic photos from their wedding day.
“Brandon was charming, witty, and a true gentleman—always in cowboy boots, wrangler jeans, and a hat. He was a devoted father, loving his kids fiercely,” she reflected.
She added, “The best gift Brandon left for his children is knowing where he is. I’ve always said that when you know that, nothing is truly lost.”
“Savannah, Seth, and our grandchildren embody the best of us,” she concluded, thanking those who supported them during this time.
After his divorce with Ashworth, Blackstock began a relationship with Kelly Clarkson.
The couple was married from 2013 until their divorce in 2020.
Just days before Blackstock’s passing, Savannah announced she was expecting her second child, revealing this exciting news on her private Instagram account. She shared updates on her growing family, noting, “One girl will arrive at the beginning of January.”
“God has been incredibly faithful,” she mentioned. “His kindness during this season has been overwhelming.”
