A dark Mercedes-Benz careened off course and crashed into a home in Hicksville, Long Island, on Saturday, causing significant damage to the walls and gas lines, and ultimately ending up in the living room.
Emergency services, including members of the Bethpage Fire Station, were called to the West Street residence around 4:30 PM.
Upon arrival, they found the luxury vehicle lodged precariously within the house.
Images from the scene indicate that the driver’s side doors had been ripped off.
The Mercedes was seen amidst a chaotic scene, buried under a heap of debris.
The identity of the female driver has not been released.
It wasn’t confirmed whether a woman inside the house sustained any injuries from the crash, though she was transported by ambulance.
Wayne Burke, a witness, recounted, “The car zoomed past me, so close it caught me off guard.” He described how it seemed to bounce along the road, cross two properties, and smash into the house.
“It felt like something out of a video game,” Burke remarked. “The car hit the curb, launched into the air, bounced back multiple times, and then vanished into the house. It was surreal.”
Neighbors reported a strong smell of gas detected in the area soon after the incident.
Burke mentioned hearing screams coming from inside the house, but it was unclear whether they were from the driver or someone else inside.
The cause of the crash remains unknown.
Interestingly, the vehicle had also struck a wall after parking two jet skis in the driveway.
A spokesperson from the Suffolk County Police did not provide any comment when reached.
