Outfielder Brandon Nimmo missed the New York Mets’ game at Nationals Park that evening after waking up confused in his hotel bathroom early Monday morning.
Nimmo fainted in the room, fell to the floor and hit his head.
Mets first-year manager Carlos Mendoza said Nimmo suffered a cut on his forehead but confirmed he avoided a concussion.
“He took all his tests this morning,” Mendoza said, “just to make sure we didn’t miss anything. Luckily, they were all negative, so I guess we’ve been lucky in that respect.”
