PHILADELPHIA — An encouraging night for the Mets took an ominous turn Friday when Francisco Lindor was replaced before the bottom of the seventh inning against the Phillies.
The shortstop was caught in a rundown and slid between second and third base to end the top of the sixth, holding his left knee.
However, the Mets announced that Lindor was suffering from back pain.
This came after the National League MVP candidate homered with a single off Harrison Bader to give the Mets a 7-0 lead over the Phillies.

It was Lindor's second hit of the night.
He entered the bottom of the sixth and got the second out on a grounder by Johan Rojas.
With Lindor out of the game, Jose Iglesias moved from second base to shortstop.
Rookie Eddie Alvarez played second base.
