Mexico Refuses to Accept Trump Deportation Flight, Mexican Officials Say No Comment
Mexican government officials declined to comment on the country's apparent refusal to admit U.S. military planes carrying migrants bound for Mexico.
Officials from Mexico's Ministry of Foreign Affairs (SRE) and Mexico's National Institute of Migration (INAMI) declined to comment when asked by Breitbart News about the apparent refusal.
Mexican authorities on Friday refused to grant landing permission to a U.S. military plane that was being used to transport a group of migrants to Mexico, NBC News reported. The reason for the refusal to fly remains unclear, but the plane did not take off.
The nationalities of the migrants on the plane remain unknown. However, Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum has publicly insisted that her country will only accept Mexican nationals, not immigrants from other countries.
The flight issue occurred on the same day the White House announced the start of deportation flights.
As reported by Breitbart Texas, Mexico has begun building large migrant camps in major border cities in preparation for accepting more migrants in the coming months.
White House press secretary Caroline Levitt said Mexico had received “a record four expulsion flights in one day.”
On Thursday, Breitbart Texas reported that the Trump administration will deploy C-130 and C-17 aircraft to facilitate the movement of migrants out of the United States.
Acting Secretary of Defense Robert Saleses said the Pentagon is “providing airlift support to flights operated by DHS to carry out the deportation of more than 5,000 people held by CBP in the San Diego-El Paso, Texas, border area.” I will,” he added.
