MGK Celebrates McGregor’s Loss at UFC 329
Machine Gun Kelly (MGK) is reveling in Conor McGregor’s loss to Max Holloway at UFC 329, which took place over the weekend.
McGregor’s highly anticipated return to UFC, after being away for five years, turned out to be brief. The fight in Las Vegas ended just 69 seconds in when McGregor injured his knee while landing awkwardly from a roundhouse kick.
The tension between McGregor and MGK dates back to the 2021 VMAs, where they had a confrontation on the red carpet.
MGK, now 36, took aim at McGregor directly by sharing a series of photos and clips from that infamous night on Instagram, along with a harsh caption: “Old age and weak knees, the real Connor can’t stand up @thenotoriousmma,” accompanied by a clown emoji.
In a follow-up post, MGK shared a video where he mocked McGregor’s injury while throwing in some extra jabs.
“I know I posted yesterday, but maybe I should apologize for not doing anything at all, buddy. Shit, this guy, that’s how beef works. We don’t like each other,” MGK remarked. He also questioned the footage from the VMAs, implying it was edited to make him look bad, suggesting, “That’s why all the footage starts with him far away.”
Some critics voiced their disapproval of MGK for mocking McGregor at such a vulnerable moment, but MGK didn’t seem fazed.
He wrapped up his comments with a sarcastic twist: “Thank you for letting the strike last longer than the game. I wasted everyone’s time. I’m angry.”
Following their initial encounter at the VMAs five years prior, where McGregor allegedly punched MGK, McGregor had expressed a desire for MGK to be present at their next fight. It appears that sentiment was not reciprocated.
As for McGregor, he mentioned he needs knee surgery and hopes to make a comeback in the Octagon once he’s healed.
