Miami Heat finally reveal ‘Grand Theft Auto VI’-inspired jerseys, and people online love them

With “Grand Theft Auto VI” nearing release, its marketing campaign is becoming hard to miss. Cities around the world have added game-themed wraps to buildings and public transit, but Miami seems to be getting especially prominent treatment.

The South Florida city helped inspire Vice City, the fictional setting for the game. In recent weeks, the area has seen billboards, blimps and other displays featuring Vice City branding.

Even the Kaseya Center, home of the Miami Heat, has a large “WELCOME TO VICE CITY” sign on its roof. The team is leaning into the theme, too: on November 18, during a game against the Milwaukee Bucks, the Heat plan to wear limited-edition “A Night in Vice City” jerseys.

The arena will get in on the fun beyond the uniforms. Concession stands are expected to offer game-inspired versions of familiar fictional fast-food spots, including Burger Shot and Cluckin’ Bell. The court will also feature a special Vice City design.

The timing is deliberate: the game is scheduled to arrive the following day. The whole thing sounds pretty fun, though getting one of the jerseys may be difficult. The team’s website indicates they’ll be available to fans attending the November 18 game.

And if past limited-edition merchandise is any guide, some may show up for resale at eye-watering prices. Fans hoping to get one might want to start saving now.
