Michael Cohen Had His ‘Knees Chopped Out’ by Trump’s Attorney

Witness Michael Cohen “got cut off at the knee” during cross-examination by defense attorney Todd Blanche, CNN legal analyst Ellie Honig said Thursday during CNN’s coverage of former President Donald Trump’s business records trial.

Host Brianna Kaylor said: You have seen many trials. Have you ever seen something with a twist like this?

Honig said, “I don’t think I’ve ever seen a star cooperating witness get his knees cut off as clearly and dramatically as in Michael Cohen’s case. I’ve seen aspects of their stories cut out and questioned.

He continued, “But this gets to the heart of the allegations here: that phone call on October 24th, the jurors, and Judges Anderson Cooper and Carla Scannell and George Grasso in the courtroom. I think it was a shocking moment for the judge.”

Honig added, “We’re in an interesting time right now. 25 minutes left until court ends today at 4 o’clock? Todd Blanche continues to cross, returns to court for 5 days, returns to court Monday I believe that if we find something new in the next four days, we have the ability to continue the cross.”
