Michael Cohen, Trump's former fix, starts a new job at WABC radio

If Trump Can Return, Why Not Cohen?

Michael Cohen, President Trump’s former attorney and fixer, made an appearance on WABC Radio 770. His involvement is seen as noteworthy, especially given his past relationship with Trump.

John Catsimatidis, the owner of WABC and a staunch Trump supporter, mentioned to the Post, “I checked with the White House and there was no opposition.” He expressed that Cohen and Trump seem to have improved their relationship.

“I understand that everything is fine,” he added, suggesting a more amicable connection between the two.

Cohen is set to take over the Sunday radio hosting role while Andrew Cuomo is off on summer vacation. Catsimatidis indicated that Cohen desires a regular five-day hosting gig, and it seems likely he’ll get that opportunity.

In the past, Cohen has confessed to facilitating hush money payments related to alleged affairs Trump had during his 2016 campaign, involving adult film star Stormy Daniels and model Karen McDougal. Trump has denied such claims.

After these events, Cohen became a key witness in litigation against Trump. However, it’s interesting to note that he appears to now be on positive terms with the former president.

Earlier in the year, Cohen accused New York State Attorney General Letitia James and Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg of pressuring him to testify against Trump in connection to civil fraud and hush money lawsuits. He expressed in a Substack post that he felt compelled to concede to their demands.

During Sunday’s show, Cohen emphasized positive aspects of Trump when interviewed by Catsimatidis. He commented, “You don’t necessarily have to agree with everything the president says or does… The president’s goal is to actually do the right thing for the country.” He acknowledged that while people might disagree with Trump’s methods, it’s important to recognize that he was elected by a substantial number of voters.

Cohen noted the significance of Trump’s agenda, reminding listeners that if people didn’t support it, they had the option to vote differently. He stated, “79 million people voted for this guy, so let him carry out his agenda.”

He went on to discuss Trump’s approach to utilizing executive power, suggesting it was a unique strategy. “What Donald Trump is doing is…using executive power in a unique way… He’s testing how far he can push it,” Cohen explained, claiming this is beneficial for the American populace.

Cohen reminisced about his time working for Trump, stating, “I was known as one of those people who was willing to tell him things that he might not want to hear.” Ultimately, he reiterated that it was Trump’s right as president to decide how to handle advice, whether to accept it or disregard it.
