PLYMOUTH, Mass. — The sole juror who stood firm against 11 others in the case against former Massachusetts nurse Lindsay Clancy has made his first direct public comments after a mistrial was announced earlier this month. Michael Desronvil, believed to be in hiding, spoke openly in a video statement that aired on Fox News’ “Hannity” on Monday.
“I know the whole focus has been on me, but we want to reel everything back and put the focus on the three angels,” he stated, referring to Clancy’s children, Cora, Dawson, and Callan—those who, he emphasized, cannot speak for themselves.
Desronvil expressed gratitude, softly sharing his appreciation for his Catholic faith and for the ability to love his daughter. He also thanked those who supported him during this challenging time.
Previously, Desronvil had communicated through his attorney, Edward Paltzik, responding to claims made by other jurors. After the mistrial on September 4, he faced accusations of wanting to convict Clancy despite harboring doubts about the case against her, which he has denied.
“Michael has zero doubt,” Paltzik said in an interview over the weekend, defending his client against a news report that mentioned past domestic violence allegations. Paltzik called those allegations “categorically false,” insisting that they never occurred.
A verbal clash has been intensifying between Paltzik and Clancy’s attorney, Kevin Reddington. Reddington labeled Desronvil as “the obstructionist juror” and is advocating for a court inquiry into allegations that he neglected his juror duties during deliberations.
Lindsay Clancy is scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday for a status update, where prosecutors will likely discuss plans for a retrial. Additionally, Clancy’s defense team has filed motions to dismiss the charges against her and to investigate the allegations involving Desronvil.
