Michael J. Fox Responds to Death Rumors
Actor Michael J. Fox was understandably upset after discovering rumors about his death circulating just a day after he appeared at a TV festival, as reported by CNN. The 64-year-old, known for his iconic roles in “Back to the Future” and “Teen Wolf,” took to social media to calm his followers, noting that such rumors seem to crop up every year.
“I thought the world was ending, but apparently it’s just me,” Fox humorously lamented.
Fox recently made a surprise appearance at PaleyFest in Los Angeles. To his bewilderment, the following day, CNN published an article suggesting he had passed away, accompanied by a tribute video.
TMZ reached out to his team and quickly confirmed that Fox is very much alive. “Michael is doing great. He was on stage at PaleyFest yesterday and did interviews,” they reiterated.
After the misinformation spread, Fox decided to address it directly on social media. He posed a rather poignant question: “How would you feel if you turned on the TV and CNN reported your death?” He even took a jab at the network formerly known as MSNBC.
Clarification from CNN
CNN later released a statement clarifying that the erroneous report had been published by mistake. “We will remove this from our platform and extend our apologies to Michael J. Fox and his family,” the spokesperson said.
Fox’s appearance was meant to promote his show, which has just completed filming its third season. He ended his commentary on a light note: “I thought the world was ending, but apparently it’s just me, and it’s okay. Love, Mike.”
