Colts’ Michael Pittman Jr. Accidentally Knocks Over Security Guard

A startling incident took place during the game between the Indianapolis Colts and the Jacksonville Jaguars when Michael Pittman Jr. unintentionally collided with a security guard, sending him crashing onto the wet grass near the end zone.

Pittman was penalized for offensive pass interference, which nullified what could have been a touchdown catch. He lost his balance while sliding across the rain-soaked field after being pushed. In the process of engaging with the enthusiastic Jacksonville crowd, he inadvertently struck a security guard who was not aware of his approach, causing the guard to fall hard, hitting the back of his head on the ground.

Pittman quickly checked on the fallen guard before returning to the game. Afterward, he turned to X to inquire about the guard’s condition, posting, “Any updates on the security guard who hit his head on the sideline yesterday?” and included a praying hands emoji.

When asked if he had received any updates on the situation, Pittman mentioned that his team was communicating with others regarding the incident. He expressed a desire to personally follow up with the guard, saying he’d heard that the guard was able to walk away on his own and was doing well, which was reassuring to hear.

This incident underscores the intense nature of NFL games, where competition often spills over into unintended consequences for those on the sidelines. Fortunately, it appears the security staff responded effectively.

Though Pittman’s touchdown catch could have marked the first touchdown pass for rookie quarterback Riley Leonard, the Colts ultimately lost the game 36-19. The team faced further challenges when starting quarterback Daniel Jones suffered a ruptured Achilles tendon early in the match, leaving him out for the rest of the season. Following this, the Colts welcomed 44-year-old Philip Rivers out of retirement to fill the gap.

Pittman is collaborating with Oral-B, now recognized as the official toothbrush of the NFL, for a promotional campaign. He shared his enthusiasm about the brand, emphasizing the importance of a good routine, especially on game days. “It’s all about the smile,” he remarked, highlighting how Oral-B’s new iO Series toothbrush makes oral care effortless and effective.
