Former US first lady Michelle Obama praised US gymnasts Simone Biles and Jordan Childs for their sportsmanship against Brazil’s Rebecca Andrade.
In the floor exercise at the Paris Olympics, Biles and Chiles won silver and bronze medals, respectively, while Andrade won gold. Biles and Chiles bowed to Andrade on the podium, seemingly emphasizing what the Olympic spirit is all about.

Baltimore Ravens star Marlon Humphrey called the moment “literally uncomfortable” in a post purportedly trolling X online, while President Obama had nothing but praise for the players.
“I will never forget this beautiful moment of sisterhood and sportsmanship! I can feel the love shining through these women. Congratulations Rebecca, Jordan and Simone!” Obama wrote.
Andrade was seen praising Biles and Chiles as she recovered from three anterior cruciate ligament surgeries to win the gold medal.

“I think it’s sportsmanship and it doesn’t matter if we win or lose, we’re always going to stay on the positive side and root for our competitors because they’ve worked just as hard as us for this moment,” Biles said. NBC’s “Today” on tuesday.
“So you have to give them flowers. And that’s exactly what me and Jordan did. We were so happy for her. She deserved it. She had the best floor exercise that day and in the Olympics. So, yeah, she deserved it.”
Humphrey’s comments were not well received on social media.
“I’m currently getting quiet criticism. I think people are yelling abuse at me in Brazilian on Instagram lol,” he wrote to X late Monday.

Andrade won four medals at the Paris Olympics, winning silver in the individual all-around and vault, as well as a bronze medal in the team final for Brazil.
