Michelle Obama Receives Backlash for ‘Happy Holidays’ Post

Former first lady Michelle Obama sparked a huge backlash online after sharing a “Happy Holidays” post to people who are feeling “anxiety and uncertainty” after the November election.

In an Instagram video featuring her own narration, she highlighted the work of the Obama Presidential Center while acknowledging that “it's been a difficult few months for many of us.”

“…people are feeling a little anxious and uncertain. But even in difficult times like these, there are many reasons to remain hopeful,” President Obama added before bringing up the foundation's programs. .

Many commenters also wished her a happy holiday, but criticized her for casually bringing up President-elect Donald Trump's victory when talking about how the past “few months” have caused anxiety. Some people did.

“We're all excited about the future! All we've experienced in the past four years is anxiety,” one Instagram user said.

“Michelle, America is excited about what's coming: new horizons and prosperity for the nation. From 2025 to 2029! No worries here,” another commenter wrote.

“A difficult few years from the damage the Biden administration has caused!” another commenter responded. “Ever since Trump won the election, things have never looked better. The people have power! Even those celebrities couldn't change that!”

Another official said, “I'm confident it won't be any worse than your husband's administration or the Biden administration.'' “That we are certain.”
