Michelle Randolph Shares Interesting Experience with Billy Bob Thornton
Michelle Randolph recently opened up about her time working alongside Billy Bob Thornton in “The Landman,” revealing a rather amusing thought that crossed her mind before they started filming.
At 28, Randolph humorously noted that as she was preparing to work with Thornton, she couldn’t shake off one particular story about his past—a story about him allegedly drinking Angelina Jolie’s blood. “Most of my scenes were with him, and I was thinking, ‘Oh my god, all I know is that he drank Angelina Jolie’s blood or something,’” she recalled during her appearance on a talk show. “I’ve asked him about it ever since,” she added, laughing.
Despite the curiosity surrounding that infamous moment, Thornton, she noted, was never flustered by her questions. “He’s just, I mean, just an easy-going guy,” she described. “If ease were human, that’s him.” Randolph emphasized that Thornton’s relaxed demeanor made her feel comfortable, even when she tends to be more talkative and fast-paced. “He just makes me want to relax,” she said.
Thornton, for his part, recently addressed the long-lasting rumors regarding their past involving blood. He mentioned in an interview that he and Jolie each had a locket containing a drop of blood, calling it a “romantic little idea.” However, he joked, “But by the end of it, we’re vampires.”
The two first met while working on the film “Pushing Tin” in 1999, and their connection blossomed quickly. They found themselves married by 2000, just after they’d both been involved with other partners at the time.
Reflecting on their past, Thornton stated that he had a “civilized” breakup with Jolie, noting that they remain good friends. “That was one of the greatest times of my life,” he said, sharing that they parted ways due to differing lifestyles.
Currently, Thornton is starring in Taylor Sheridan’s “Landman,” which adapts the podcast “Boomtown”—a show focused on the oil boom in West Texas during the early 2010s. He plays Tommy Norris, a crisis manager for a company called M-Tex. The series features a talented cast, including Demi Moore, Jon Hamm, and others.
