Assessment of Iran’s Nuclear Damage

As evaluations of the damage inflicted on three Iranian nuclear sites continue, experts suggest that the reported assessments only reinforce the positions held by the US and Israel regarding Iran. Jacob Olidort, who directs the American Security Center at the First Policy Institute, indicated that the strike has potentially delayed Iran’s nuclear ambitions significantly.

“The United States and Israel believe they have met their objectives,” Olidort stated. He added that Israel likely spent years preparing for this strike, asserting that it aimed to dismantle Iran’s uranium enrichment capabilities.

This past Saturday, the US executed an unexpected attack, deploying B-2 stealth bombers and specialized bunker-buster bombs at nuclear facilities located in Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan.

I’m not sure, but it seems there have been reports of emotionally charged reactions to the attack, with some expressing strong support for Trump’s stance related to Iran.

Contrary to claims from the Trump administration that the strikes had destroyed key sites, some reports suggest that Iran is still progressing in its pursuit of nuclear capabilities. Esmail Baghhai, a representative for Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, noted that the nation’s nuclear facilities have sustained significant damage.

Olidort remarked, “Everything Iran is currently doing appears to be about preserving its honor.” He emphasized a cautious approach, suggesting that international observers should not take Iran’s statements at face value as this information seems to enhance US and Israeli perspectives.

Rafael Grossi, head of the International Atomic Energy Agency, confirmed that the damage from Israeli and US attacks was indeed substantial, characterizing it as “very, very considerable.” He mentioned that while many details may be unclear, the impact of the strikes was significant.
